Surface tension.
So, in their infinite wisdom, Highland Council's roads department have decided to start resurfacing a fairly sizeable stretch of the main (okay, pretty much ONLY) road on the peninsula - the A861 - just as the tourist season really kicks in. So far, so silly.
Even sillier, however (unless I'm really missing something), is the fact that they appear to have chosen a very slippy, dusty collection of pebbles to form the new surface. I had assumed they'd stick some tarmac over the top - crazy notion, I know - but the rocks and gravel went down days ago and in the meantime I've been forced to drive the van as if I were practicing for the Isle of Mull Rally, which may be no bad thing.
