It's a start...

And, as Joey the Lips said, "I believe in starts."

First tentative steps on the road to recovery today, I think. Big trip to the big smoke for some shopping - new cupboard doors courtesy of the timber department at B&Q, a replacement for the cracked light over the cooker from the excellent caravan shop on Great Western Road along with a nice new moisture trap from there too...Oh, we also got a very cheap bit of wood effect vinyl flooring from Allied Carpets, which was nice.

We'd ordered the replacement foam from Ace yesterday so we needed to get on the trail of some suitable fabric today. Since the curtains had come up nicely in the wash we thought we'd try to keep the colour scheme similar to that already in place - a kind of rusty orange and browny-red type affair. Honest, it's better than it sounds. Anyway, that wasn't easy, particularly when you've forgotten to take a sample of the curtain fabric with you. Regardless, we pressed on and tried Mandors and Remnant Kings without much success. Dunelm Mill seems to be a better bet as they had loads of lovely fabric and gave us some samples to take away. We're too tired now to get the fabric out and have a look but at least we've made some steps in the right direction.

It feels like we might actually be able to get the van back on the road and enjoy it again. We've set ourselves a target of the midsummer weekend as we've booked tickets for a music festival up North and we've requested a camper van pass too! Always nice to have something to aim for...
