"Phew, what a scorcher!" as they say, and in light of the rather hot weather of late it's been getting a bit hot in the old bus. The many and varied idiosyncracies of the VW Van mean that the heating system ain't perhaps all it could be, so we're getting hot air constantly blasting into the cab.

The good folks at Club 80-90 (and indeed many other people) have advised that, in lieu of the funds to buy all the new kit to get it sorted properly, it might be an idea to jam closed the heater control pods to stop the flow of heat from the exchangers...then simply open them up again in the cold weather.

Confused? Don't be.

Alas, nothing is ever simple and it turns out that my cables are worn at the ends and don't control the pods anyway - made it easier to jam them open though! - AND at some point in the past, some pillock has replaced a heater elbow&pod set with a length of hose - so it's constant hot air there! Pah...
